Rankin Kinsman-Blake Portrait.jpg

My name is Rankin. Having to supply our wood burning stoves for over thirty years it was impossible not to love this incredible natural resource. Beginning with putting aside pieces which caught my eye because of their quirky form or a particularly lovely grain I then felt compelled to develop the skills and accumulate the tools necessary to do something with them.

Having always made pottery for a living it felt a natural step to also create with wood. These mainly functional objects are each a response to some natural aspect of the wood, each item whether it is a spoon or a salt-box is unique to its self.
