Visit the Kinsman Blake Gallery here in our beautiful little village of Smailholm. The Gallery is easily accessible by wheelchair from the carpark But if you have any concerns you are welcome to contact us and chat about it first.
Make a day of it and see Smailholm Tower, Scots View, the Wallace Statue, Dryburgh Abbey, Mellerstain House and Floors Castle, all just five minutes away. We welcome you to visit us in our working studio along side the gallery. As we do not have a tea room here, perhaps you would like to eat at Mellerstain House’s ‘Courtyard Cafe’ or the pretty town of Kelso is just ten minutes away with a variety of places to eat. If you are looking for a dog friendly cafe we would recommend ‘The Cream Chimneys’ in Kelso Square. Also only ten minutes away is ‘Mainstreet Trading’ book shop and cafe in St Boswells or if you are looking for a beautifully cooked, locally sourced meal (presented on Kinsman Blake ceramics no less!) we highly recommend ‘Seasons’ in the village of Gattonside with an after dinner stroll across the River Tweed footbridge to the historic town of Melrose.
